Free-range chicken (‘Lumagorri’)

Basque free-range chickens, known as ‘Lumagorri’, have reddish plumage and yellow legs and feet.

These chickens can roam around as much as they please and are fed on natural cereals. They need to be, at least, 81 days old to be sacrificed, which guarantees the juiciness of their meat, totally different from other poultry.

Each year around 350,000 ‘Lumagorri’ chickens are commercialized in the catering and food sectors?
